There won’t be any previews before the features, but this concert is so amazing you won’t care. With music from movies including Howard Shore’s mysteryious and intriguing score to The Hobbit and highlights from the epic Hollywood film Hercules, to the captivating conclusion of the horrific Alien (Hanson’s 2nd Symphony), Maestro Vener has put together a blockbuster concert you won’t want to miss. Violinist Armen Anassian will dazzle you with a breathtaking performance of Korgold’s Violin Concerto, the beloved showpiece written by the father of film music, while the Cal Phil string section will have you hanging on to the edge of your seat with fright as they screech through music from Bernard Herrmann’s score to Psycho. And of course, no concert of film music would be complete without John Williams’ music to Star Wars! Extra butter for your popcorn?
